AHP Stories

The AHP Celebrates 25 Years

Since its founding 25 years ago, the Affordable Housing Program has committed more than $248 million in subsidies and more than $211 million in low-interest advances to support nearly 1,000 affordable-housing initiatives across New England.

The breadth and depth of this program is truly remarkable. AHP funding has supported housing for families and seniors, veterans and people recovering from homelessness, residents with physical and mental disabilities, and young people transitioning out of foster care, among others.

Over the years the AHP has become an essential tool of affordable-housing developers across the region. In the video that follows, the testimony of developers, bankers, and residents who have worked with the AHP or benefitted from its housing over the last 25 years makes clear the time-tested value of this important regional resource.

As the AHP embarks on its second 25 years, the Bank remains as dedicated as ever to the goal of making quality affordable homes available to New Englanders who need them.
