FHLB Boston's Anti-Money Laundering Program

In 2014, new regulations issued by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network took effect and subject the Federal Home Loan Banks to certain sections of the Bank Secrecy Act (31 CFR Part 1030 Anti-Money Laundering Program and Suspicious Activity Report Filing Requirements for Housing Government Sponsored Enterprises).

As required by the new rule, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston established an anti-money laundering program, both to address fraud and other risks the Bank is exposed to and file suspicious activity reports with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. To comply with these new obligations, we are required to obtain information necessary to establish and maintain an effective anti-money laundering program and may, from time to time, request such information from our members.

We provide this notice to raise awareness of both the new rule and our obligations under it. Should you have any questions, please contact your relationship manager or Melissa Benson, compliance officer, at 617-425-9545.
